Applied Behavior Analysis
"Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a science dedicated to the understanding and improvement of human behavior."

"ABA is a scientific approach for identifying environmental variables that influence behavior of social significance and for systematically developing a functionally related methodology to program for behavior change. Additionally, ABA focuses on skill acquisition. Skill acquisition can occur when a behavior analyst is teaching a new, functionally related alternative behavior (to replace an inappropriate problem behavior) or to teach academic, self-care, motor, social skills, etc."

Home & School Consultations
NOVA is committed to helping with every aspect of yours and your child's lives.
If school is the largest area of concern, your BCBA will work directly with your child's teachers to help your child succeed in that setting.

Parent trainings and in-home meetings are available and strongly encouraged to ensure generalization and maintenance in the home and community settings. These home consultations also help families prepare for a time when your child no longer needs direct support from a BCBA.

Problem Behavior Reduction
Problem behavior reduction is a common service at NOVA. This service is combined with in-center ABA therapy and/or in the home and school-settings.

NOVA is dedicated to creating goals in this area using up-to-date peer-reviewed research to teach your child appropriate behaviors to replace the undesired behaviors they currently might be engaging in.
